Here we have some 40,000 year old Wooly Mammoth hair. There are different colors and different textures of hair depending on where it was located on the Mammoth itself. The longer reddish colored strands are the outer layer and the more dense course strands are the guard hairs that were underneath the outer layer. A truly amazing animal.
